Hi

1. I bought SuperDuper and when I tried to register it was told that this was an invalid #. Why, since I copied it from the email I received and pasted it in space provided for such.

2. I then tried the trial version 4 tiimes and it always stopped in about the miiddle and never completed task. Why.

Thanks

Louise,

I think Dave is in San Francisco for WWDC right now, so he may not be able to respond as quickly as he'd like to.

My guess for the first problem you're mentioning is that possibly Mail added blanks or a newline along with the serial number. Try checking the serial number field for such oddities before clicking the button. Just a guess, but perhaps it'll help you out.

If not, I'm just Dave will be here to answer your plea as soon as he can.

Cheers.

Hi, Louise! Sorry that I wasn't able to reply immediately -- as Jonas indicated (thanks, Jonas), I'm on the road at WWDC and not able to check in as often as I'd like.

But, enough with the excuses. Let's get to your questions!

1. I bought SuperDuper and when I tried to register it was told that this was an invalid #. Why, since I copied it from the email I received and pasted it in space provided for such.
As Jonas indicated, this is a relatively common problem, especially when cutting/pasting the serial numbers: often extra characters are included. Take a look at the FAQ entry I've created that goes over this in some detail -- you can find it at http://www.shirt-pocket.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58 . Let me know if it helps.

2. I then tried the trial version 4 times and it always stopped in about the miiddle and never completed task. Why.
Well, I don't have a lot to go on here: it's likely that an error occurred. To help me figure out what's going on, please send the SuperDuper!.log to support@shirt-pocket.com as an attachment (don't copy/paste it into the message). You'll find it off your Home directory in Library/Logs/SuperDuper!.log. I'll take a look at it, and see what I can see, and we'll take it from there.

Hope that helps, and sorry for the trouble and the delay in response. I'll do my best to reply quickly when I receive the information from you.

Thanks.
