Booted before but not now...

My firewire 400 (maxtor) drive did boot on two prior occasions when tested.

Since last backup using "Newer" "all files except temp" it tries to boot but fails to reach the login screen, blue bar moves only part way then stops .

I have not updated super duper.(2.1.3(V80)
On Intel mac 17" 2.16Ghz core duo 10.4.9.

Files all appear ok on the backup drive it just will not boot... fully.

Only difference I can think of since last backup is I now use the open firmware password on my laptop.

You can't use "Copy Newer" on a backup you expect to startup from, Matt. You have to use "Smart Update" or "Erase, then copy".
